MEOW is looking for volunteers

Kirkland's MEOW Cat Rescue is currently looking for volunteers. They are in need  of people to help out at the shelter during adoption hours as well as additional families willing to take in cats and help socialize them before the cats can be adopted into new homes. If the following is something you are interested in, call MEOW at 425.822.6369 or visit their site, http://www.meowcatrescue.org/, for more information.

Adoption Counselor: During our open hours, Adoption Counselors are available to greet visitors, provide customer service, take adoption applications, discuss pet care, aid in the selection of the appropriate animal and complete the adoption process. Adoption Counselors may also do laundry, keep cages and common areas clean, and answer phone calls. Our shelter is a busy atmosphere and volunteers who wish to be Adoption Counselors should be good at organization and multi-tasking.

Foster Care: Underage kittens and puppies, sometimes with mothers, sometimes orphans, are placed in foster homes until ready for adoption. Animals that are ill or injured or have special needs are also fostered. They may require care for a day or for several weeks. A foster home must be able to provide a safe, warm place isolated from other pets. The animals need lots of human contact to help develop confidence and social skills and some may require medication. Foster person must keep MEOW appointments. In spring and summer, many additional foster homes are needed to care for the hundreds of litters of kittens we rescue each year.
